Agreed. Some people crave “poor me” attention, others want “look at how much I’ve overcome” attention. Both of these come from a core of narcissism which I personally find unacceptable.

“That’s to your credit”. It really *shouldn’t* be though. Nobody deserves a medal for being a good person…you don’t get congratulated for not hitting your husband or wife. No cookie for you if you don’t abuse children or animals. It’s what you should be doing anyway!
