#184 re: quiet and deadly milquetoast.
I’m rather loud, actually.
Yesterday I happened to be doing my Man In Brown getup, brown work pants (brown brown, not tan), two tone brown shirt, brown cowboy hat, because, well anyway we had to do some outside testing of some stuff. Monday my voice was profundo from all the shouting on Sunday night, but by Tuesday it had recovered up to my normal baritone Johnny Cash timbre.
I touched my hat to a little group of women I was walking past and said mildly (for me) “Ladies” in rather archaic acknowledgement, of I guess, their femaleness. But even my mild indoor voicevibrates things, and this was my outside voice. The traffic noises were pretty loud, but most of the background noise was coming from bass thumping in a trunk of a car as it played Hot Blooded while sitting at a red light. One of the women respondly brightly “Angelman!”
I was intrigued enough to stop and wonder. “What?” She was just a few feet away, and clearly trying to be loud enough to be heard, but all that was coming through was soft noises about daily agents . “What?” I asked again. I’m not THAT deaf. Finally the car drove off as she was explaining “You know, Ladiees and Gentlemen!” I smiled.
