Paula, women *have* had a gatekeeper role in sex for like, a thousand generations, we’ve had the Pill for only 50 years. You can demand that people’s expectations change all you want, you can’t make it so.

Life’s not fair. Despite best intentions, we all will subconsciously judge a promiscuous woman negatively.

Actually, Joey, it’s really only the last 50 years that women have had a gatekeeper role — before that, they were either considered property of their husband, or forced to submit to arranged marriages, where you legally couldn’t be raped by your husband.
