The closest thing to a functional married couple I know, the guy was a stallion when I first met him – could get any girl, and did. Watching him work was part of what pulled me out of the foreveralone mode. Set me up with the first girl I ever hooked up with, tried to teach me Game before I knew about Game. Then he got married. Six months later I’m talking to him, asking him how’s married life, and the first thing he says is, “Well, we’re not having sex a whole lot, but that’s normal.” His wife had gained twenty pounds since the wedding, too. She was cool before the wedding.
Have another friend who only got married because he knocked up some chick who decided to keep it. After their second kid, he hadn’t learned his lesson, and knocked her up a third time. She just went out and aborted it, then told him about it after. Guy was devastated, but can’t do anything because he wants to be the father he didn’t have. At least this one was a bad seed to start with.
Have a cousin whose wife divorced him and took half his stuff because he managed to lose a big contract around the same time his father died of cancer. Rather than help him through his rough time, she went the divorce-rape route. And she always seemed so cool before the first time they hit a serious crisis.
