2. Gameplay Mechanics
The Granny gameplay loop revolves around exploration, stealth, and puzzle-solving. It is played from a first-person perspective, adding to the immersive horror experience. Here’s a breakdown of the core mechanics:
2.1 Movement and Stealth
Players must navigate Granny’s house carefully. Crouching reduces noise but slows movement. Running might be faster, but it almost guarantees that Granny will hear you. Each step requires strategy — do you risk making noise to grab an essential item, or take the longer, quieter route?
2.2 The Five-Day Limit
The five in-game days act as your lives. Each time Granny catches you, you lose a day and wake up back in the starting room. By the fifth day, the game’s tension is at its peak, as you only have one final chance to escape.
2.3 Tools and Items
The house is filled with hidden tools and keys, such as the hammer, cutting pliers, padlock key, and more. These are used to dismantle
Granny’s security systems and unlock the main exit. Some tools are located in hard-to-reach areas, requiring creative problem-solving.
2.4 Traps and Hazards
Granny sets bear traps around the house, which slow you down and give her time to catch you. There are also locked doors, hidden compartments, and secret passages to discover.
2.5 Hiding Spots
To survive, players must use hiding spots like wardrobes, under beds, and behind doors. Timing is critical — if Granny sees where you hide, she will drag you out immediately.
